Hunting: When a synchronous motor is loaded, the rotor pole axis lags behind the stator pole axis by delta (torque angle). When the load is suddenly thrown off, the rotor pole axis coincides with the stator pole axis.

But due to inertia, the rotor travels a bit far and is pulled back, and so on. Hence an oscillatory motion is set up about its equilibrium position. This phenomenon is known as hunting.

 

Causes of Hunting:  

1.Sudden changes in load

2.Sudden change in the field current.

3.Cyclic variations of the load torque.

 

Effect of Hunting:

1. It can lead to a loss of synchronism.

2. Lare mechanical stresses may develop in the rotor shaft.

3. The machine losses increase and the temperature of the machine rise.

হান্টিং : যখন একটি সিঙ্ক্রোনাস মোটর লোড হয়, তখন রোটর পোল অক্ষটি ডেল্টা (টর্কের কোণ) দ্বারা স্টেটর মেরু অক্ষের পিছনে থাকে। লোডটি হঠাৎ বন্ধ হয়ে গেলে, রোটর পোল অক্ষটি স্ট্যাটার পোলের অক্ষের সাথে মিলে যায়।

কিন্তু জড়তার কারণে রোটরটি খানিকটা দূরে গিয়ে আবার ফিরে আসে এবং এভাবে কয়েকবার আসা যাওয়া করে । এই আসা যাওয়ার ফলে একটা দোলক গতি তৈরী হয়। এই ঘটনাটি হান্টিং হিসাবে পরিচিত।

1. লোড হঠাৎ পরিবর্তন হলে

2. ফিল্ড কারেন্ট হঠাৎ পরিবর্তনহলে

3. লোড টর্ক এর সাইক্লিক তারতম্যহলে

 

হান্টিংয়ের প্রভাব:

1.হান্টিংয়ের কারণে সিঙ্ক্রোনিজম লস হতে পারে।

2. রোটর শ্যাফটে অনেক বেশি মেকানিকাল স্ট্রেস ডেভলপ হতে পারে।

৩.হান্টিংয়ের কারণে মেশিনের ক্ষতি বৃদ্ধি পায় এবং মেশিনের তাপমাত্রা বৃদ্ধি পায়।
