Advantages of Epitaxy-

1. Epitaxial growth is a standard processing technology in silicon device fabrication.
2. Advanced epitaxial growth methods permit the fabrication of extraordinarily advanced electronic and photonic device structures.
3. Epitaxy permits the fabrication of thin-film single-crystal materials that would be difficult or impossible to grow as bulk single crystals.
4. The extreme thickness control of modern epitaxial growth methods allows the unusual and unique physical and chemical phenomenon to be studied.
5. Silicon Epitaxy is done to improve the performance of bipolar devices.
6. It allows a higher operating speed
7. Epitaxy has also recently been used in CMOS VLSI circuits.
8. Epitaxy also allows better control of doping concentrations of the devices. The layer can also be made oxygen-and carbon-tree.

 

Disadvantages of Epitaxy-

1. Higher cost of wafer fabrication.
2.  Additional process is needed which creates complexities.

1. এপিট্যাক্সিয়াল গ্রোথ সিলিকন ডিভাইস ফ্যাব্রিকেশন একটি মান প্রক্রিয়াকরণ প্রযুক্তি।
2. উন্নত এপিট্যাক্সিয়াল গ্রোথ পদ্ধতি অসাধারণ উন্নত ইলেকট্রনিক এবং ফোটোনিক ডিভাইসের কাঠামো তৈরির অনুমতি দেয়।
